Communication Skills: Developed while teaching English as a foreign language to university students and company employees in Portugal.
Languages: Achieved a portfolio of a number of translated articles and documents as part of my Master’s programme in both Spanish and Portuguese. Also possess knowledge of French, having studied it both in school and in my spare time. Coached young individuals interested in pursuing a career in translation as part of the Manchester Academic Enrichment Programme, held by the University of Manchester, 2007. Undertook voluntary work as part of the European funded Leonardo Da Vinci Programme in Lisbon, Portugal, which enabled me to improve my Portuguese language skills. Acted as a volunteer interpreter for the European Social Forum, Paris, 2003.
Teamwork and Leadership: Motivated others in a busy restaurant environment and supervised new members of staff. Delegated responsibility in the restaurant and worked as a team to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and good service.

Receptionist / Administration Assistant, April – September 2008

My duties included a number of administration activities such as, typing, mailing, diary management, sorting of post, ordering supplies, organizing transport, managing switchboard and taking calls, faxing etc.
Translator Checker, March 2008 – September 2008
I have participated in a large-scale project which involved proofreading a large number of texts, which had been translated from Turkish into English. These texts are to be used in the exhibitions for the Frankfurt Book Fair, 2008. The texts required a great deal of concentration and knowledge of nuances, as often there were inconsistencies regarding the use of articles, verb agreement and phrasal verbs. It was a very challenging exercise, but enjoyable to its linguistic component.
