Hi,

I'm new to freelance translation. A lot of times when I read the job postings I see that they want to see your translation samples. Can I use a sample from a previous translation I did for another company (if I wasn't required to sign an NDA with them)? Or do I just translate a random text and send it to them? How long should a sample be (in general)?

THANK YOU!

Hi Nazar, welcome to TranslatorPub.com. I´m sure - with all your references you can find a lot of new clients here.

Also - you should include all of this into your profile, so people know more about you. In order to receive more direct job offers, I suggest you´ll also publish some articles. You could publish some articles from your past that seem to be appropriate.

Sure - but you need to take out any private information or details about your client. Otherwise, yes - an honest company will accept previous samples that you translated.
