If a person complete a translation on translatorpub, how is that person paid? Are they paid through paypal or does translatorpub have its own escrow service, like elance.com does?

Hi Veronica87, welcome to TranslatorPub.com. We at TranslatorPub only provide the platform, you need to arrange the payments direclty with your client. There are thousands of possible payment forms out there, like paypal, moneybookers, wire transfer, check, etc.

Currently TranslatorPub has no escrow service available.

Then is there any way to verify that a company is legit? Because I know that most people do not want to take the trouble of translating something only to never be paid.

How could I ensure that something like this does not occur?

This depends on where the company is based and how long they are in business. A first approach would be to visit their website and see if all information are provided. If you still have doubt, you should give them a call or ask for pre-payment.

Hi Veronica,
if I may suggest, look at the BlueBoards in other translator directories around the web. They have been pretty good at filtering out non-payers and scammers.
The best way to get paid is getting paid in advance, of course. :)
